Cheney Involved In Burress Shooting

NEW YORK- Sources close to the NFL are reporting that Plaxico Burress was taking advantage of his off day from practice to hunt in Texas with good friend and fellow sportsman, Dick Cheney, when the Vice President’s gun “accidently” shot Burress in the thigh. Although details of the shooting are not yet available, apparently there had been some trash talking with Cheney bragging how his “home town” Redskins would “kick the beans” out of Burress’ Giants. After Burress replied back Cheney’s Glock went off, hitting Burress in the thigh.

Bystanders said Cheney seemed to scramble for a bit, and then pleaded with Burress to say he shot himself in a nightclub. Burress, in an effort to uphold the Office of the Vice-Presidency agreed, but friends say secretly he wasn’t too thrilled. This story comes on the heels of a previous report that Cheney was Burress’ first shooting instructor, and sole mentor for three years . The two had developed a very close relationship, and Plaxico had repeatedly told people close to him that the Vice-President taught him ‘everything he knows’ about aiming a gun.

Suzie Veedling, a friend of Burress’ told reporters, “Plaxico is a good guy, and I’m sure he’ll never admit the Vice-President put a plug in his leg. But privately he has condemned Dick Cheney, saying ‘he is fun to be around until he gets pissed off’. Those close to Burress say they doubt he will go on a hunting excursion with the firearm brandishing neocon again.

President-elect Obama could not be reached for comment.
